The Australian Government initiative, Strongim Bisnis supported Tourism Solomons at the “Mi Save Solo” tourism exchange on 5 July 2019 to support the event’s organisation.
As part of the 2019 SolChoc Festival, Strongim Bisnis partnered with a local youth creative centre, DreamCast Theatre, to organise a photography competition. The competition encouraged Solomon Islanders to showcase women, youth and people living with disability who work in the Solomon Islands cocoa sector. Winners of the photography competition: “Capturing Cocoa”, received a total of SB$7,400 worth of prizes on 14 June 2019.
Between 27 and 31 May 2019, Strongim Bisnis helped 17—mostly female—trainers from Solomon Islands Rural Training Centres and non-government organisations learn how to make drinking chocolate, face cream, tea and nibs from Solomon Islands cocoa beans. The week-long training was taught by Oongah Browne and Floris Niu from Koko Samoa, a Samoan cocoa and drinking chocolate organisation.
